Foxconn Commits $1.37 Billion to AI and Supercomputing Expansion
Foxconn has authorized a NT$42 billion ($1.37 billion) investment to bolster its AI and supercomputing capabilities. The funds, allocated from internal reserves, will be deployed between December 2025 and December 2026 to accelerate development of smart platforms and cloud computing services.
The MOVE underscores Foxconn's strategic pivot toward high-growth sectors like AI infrastructure and data centers. This follows its August collaboration with SoftBank to manufacture data center equipment in Ohio as part of the $500 billion Stargate project, a U.S. initiative to dominate AI infrastructure.
While details remain scarce, the investment signals Foxconn's ambition to diversify beyond electronics manufacturing. The Taiwanese firm appears poised to capitalize on the AI boom, though specific technological applications or geographic focuses were not disclosed.
